Directions from Highway 64: Turn north onto Cox Street between Dunkin Donuts and Hardee's. Follow Cox Street to where it intersects with Worth Street and turn left at the stop light. The Shaw Building is on the left.
Directions from Highway 220 by-pass: Take the Asheboro (Highway 42) exit to your left. At top of the exit turn east onto Salisbury Street (northbound traffic must go straight across at top of ramp to the next light). Go to the stop light where Salisbury Street intersects with N Fayetteville Street and turn right. Get into the left turning lane to turn left onto Worth Street. The Shaw Building is on the right.
Our hours of operation are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.
The Register of Deeds follows the same Holiday Closings as the Randolph County Government.
Note: The county commissioners have authorized us per Resolution to suspend the recording of real estate documents, the issuance of notary oaths, and marriage licenses at 4:30 pm every day.
Duties of the Register of Deeds office include:
- Recording real estate-related documents; deeds, deeds of trust, powers of attorney, releases, real property related UCCs etc.
- Recording subdivision and survey plats, condominium maps, partnerships and assumed names, military discharges
- Satisfying deeds of trusts
- Issuing marriage licenses
- Maintaining and issuing certified copies of vital records; births, deaths, and marriages which occur in Randolph County
- Administering oaths to Notaries Public
