Certificates of assumed names filed under the prior law (before December 2, 2017) expired December 1, 2022.
Someone desiring to engage in business in North Carolina under an assumed name after the above date must file an assumed business name certificate using the new form.

The fee for recording an Assumed Name is the same as for other real estate documents: $26 for the first 15 pages and $4 for each additional page.
