Hood, Steven Chance
On April 2, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Cheyenne Trail, Pleasant Garden, in reference to a reported altercation. Upon arrival, the victim reported that Steven Chance Hood had forced entry into the residence by breaking through a window, was observed climbing out of the window, and then fled into an outbuilding upon return to the residence.
Deputies approached the outbuilding and gave multiple verbal commands for Hood to exit. After several attempts, he complied. When he exited, he showed clear signs of being under the influence of a substance. An active 50-B protective order filed against Hood was confirmed. He was placed under arrest and taken to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for charges of felony second-degree burglary, misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation, misdemeanor injury to real property, and misdemeanor communicating threats. He was not issued a bond due to the active 50-B protective order. A first appearance was scheduled for April 6, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
