***UPDATE***
Passenger Ashley Carolyn Freeman, who initially gave a false name, had an active Order for Arrest for failure to appear out of Randolph County. Freeman was not arrested for her outstanding processes nor her new charges during this incident due to medical reasons.
A Warrant for Arrest was sought for felony possession of methamphetamine, felony identity theft, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor resisting public officer and the magistrate found probable cause to issue.
On March 9, 2026, Freeman was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served her outstanding warrant and order for arrest. She was issued a $10,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for March 10, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.

On April 14, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Union Church Rd., Asheboro.
During a subsequent search, methamphetamine and paraphernalia were located.
The driver, Samuel Taylor Scott, and the passenger, Jennifer Lynn Callicutt, were both arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. They were issued a $1,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for April 14, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
Scott was also issued a Citation for driving while his license was revoked.
