On March 19, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 311 in Archdale, in reference to a 911 open line call for service. Upon arrival, deputies learned that Nathan Hayes Hedgecock was inside the residence and that he had been previously served a 50B protective order. Other individuals inside the residence evacuated and were safely escorted away. Multiple commands were given for Hedgecock to exit before he did. After he was placed into custody, several deputies cleared the residence to ensure no one else was inside. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony domestic violence protective order violation, misdemeanor interfere with emergency communication, misdemeanor domestic criminal trespassing, and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. Due to the domestic nature of the crimes, he was not issued a bond, and a first appearance was set for March 20, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
