On March 20, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Team Highway Unit conducted a traffic stop on I-85, Archdale. After further investigation, a subsequent search of the vehicle was conducted due to the odor of marijuana emitting from within. As a result, detectives located and seized approximately 1.2 pounds (556.5 grams) of marijuana and U.S. currency.
Darrin Rudolph Daniels, of Hope Mills, NC, was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for the charges of felony possession of marijuana, felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, two counts of misdemeanor resisting a public officer, and misdemeanor injury to personal property. He was also issued a detainer by ATF for an arrest warrant for possession of a firearm by a felon. He received a $2,000 bond and a first appearance set for March 23, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
