Doing Good in Your Neighborhood
Doing Good in Your Neighborhood
This program is designed to recognize school-aged children within our community who are doing good things. The Doing Good in Your Neighborhood program is a community-based initiative that brings the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office together with our community, local businesses, local schools, community organizations, city recreational centers, and most importantly, our youth. The goal of this program is to reinforce exemplary behavior while helping to build self-esteem. We also intend to build bridges of trust throughout our community and publicly thank our youth for their positive deeds and contributions to this community.
Some examples of good deeds:
Volunteering time in our community or to charitable organizations, Acts that help improve our environment, Turning in something that was lost, Helping someone in need, Helping to keep their school safe, Acts of selfless service, etc. (outside of required projects of school or programs unless it goes beyond the initial project scope)
Who can nominate a child/youth:
Any adult possessing information regarding a child/youth’s commendable action in Randolph County.
How to nominate a child/youth:
Complete an online nomination form/brag tag with as much information as you can.
The requested information and a brief synopsis of the good deed must be included.
Brag tags- serve as a means to acknowledge young individuals for their voluntary contributions to the neighborhood or community. This recognition may be awarded when youth engage in various commendable actions, such as assisting an elderly resident with yard work, collecting litter, engaging in community service activities, or supporting peers in an educational setting/school.
Monthly submission deadline:
Submit your nomination by the last day of the month for the following month's recognition.
Recognition:
Each submission will receive a prize. These submissions will undergo evaluation, and one will be chosen for that month's recognition. Monthly winners will be recognized as exemplary figures within our community, accompanied by a brief description of the child or youth's commendable action. From the monthly winners, one will be designated as the overall yearly champion. Both the monthly winners and the yearly winner will be honored by the Sheriff and his staff.
