On September 9, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 64 E., Asheboro, in reference to a larceny/theft that had already occurred. Upon arrival, the complainant reported that vehicles on the property had been broken into and items were removed.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, charges were sought against Jessie Lee Jones for two counts of felony break/enter motor vehicle with theft and two counts of felony possession of stolen goods/property. The magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On September 16, 2025, Jones was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate issued a $50,000 secured bond. A first appearance was scheduled for September 17, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
