In January 2024, pursuant to an initial investigation, a search warrant was executed on a residence in Davidson County, related to a cyber tip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). As a result of the investigation, on January 3, 2024, Joshua Anthony Rojas was arrested by Detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office and charged with three (3) counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Rojas was transported to the Davidson County Detention Center where the magistrate issued a $300,000 secured bond and set a first appearance in Davidson County. The investigation continued after the arrest of Rojas, with detectives uncovering that Rojas was profiting from the on-line sale of child sexual abuse material.
In February 2024, the Invictus Task Force began to assist the ongoing investigation into Rojas and as a result, officers were able to identify that Rojas had distributed child sexual abuse material to seventy-five (75) suspects across the United States and Canada. Detectives and Task Force Officers subsequently identified 201 child victims from the files Rojas sold, exchanged, and/or solicited from these additional suspects.
On April 2, 2025, Joshua Anthony Rojas pled guilty in Davidson County Superior Court to four (4) counts of 1st degree sexual exploitation of a minor and one (1) count of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. As a result of the plea Rojas was sentenced to twenty (20) years.
The Davidson County Sheriff's Office and Invictus Task Force would like to thank the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office and our investigative partners for their continued dedication in seeking justice for victims as well as ensuring accountability for those that prey upon our children.
