On November 5, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Old Liberty Rd., Franklinville, regarding a larceny of a motor vehicle. During an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team – Urban Unit, evidence was collected, and charges were sought against Woodrow Reed Hatfield, who had scrapped the vehicle. The magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for felony obtain property by false pretense and felony possession of stolen motor vehicle.
On June 8, 2024, Hatfield was located in Guilford County, arrested, and transported to the Guilford County Detention Center where he was served his outstanding warrant. He was issued a $3,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for July 29, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
