On July 21, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Andrew Hunter Rd. and US Hwy 64, Franklinville. During a subsequent search, methamphetamine, paraphernalia and a firearm were located. Due to the domestic violence protective order, Jenkins is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation. Jenkins was held on a 48-hour domestic violence hold and confined to the Detention Center. A first appearance set for July 24, 2023.
After further examination of the barrel length, it was substantially shorter than the legal requirement. On July 22, 2023, charges were sought for felony possession of a weapon of mass destruction and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant. Jenkins was served the warrant and the magistrate issued a $75,000 secured bond and added to the first appearance set for July 24, 2023.
Later, On July 22, 2023, additional charges were sought on Jenkins following review of his call history, which revealed he had attempted to make contact with his victim on four occasions since the initial arrest. Additional charges were sought for four counts misdemeanor domestic violence protective order violation and the magistrate found probable cause and issued the charges. Jenkins was once again issued a 48-hour domestic violence hold and returned back to his cell. These were also added to his first appearance on July 24, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
