On July 13, 2023, a Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Detective in the area of Erect Rd., Seagrove, observed a male subject acting suspicious. Upon the detective pulling into the driveway of the residence the male fled on foot. The detective was advised that the male was James Henry Bolton-McKee, who had active warrants for his arrest.
K9 Sarge and his handler responded in an effort to track Bolton-McKee. K9 Sarge located Bolton-McKee hiding in the crawl space of the residence.
James Henry Bolton-McKee was arrested on the outstanding processes out of Randolph, Chatham and Montgomery Counties for four counts felony violation of pre-trial release and four counts felony failure to appear on a felony. During a search to arrest, illegal narcotics and paraphernalia were located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served those outstanding orders for arrest and issued a $270,000 total secured bond with a first appearance scheduled for the Randolph County charges on July 14, 2023.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Bolton-McKee for the felony possession of schedule II controlled substance, felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor resist/obstruct/delay, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The magistrate found probable cause to issue the warrant.
On July 21, 2023, Bolton-McKee, still confined at the Randolph County Detention Center, was served the outstanding warrant. He was issued a $15,000 secured bond along with a first appearance for July 24, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
