On June 18, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Spanish Ln., Asheboro, in reference to an escort. The caller advised a male was banging on the doors of the business although it was after hours and they were closed. Deputies didn’t locate the male on the property but canvassed the area for the suspect, locating him on US Hwy 220 S. sitting on the ground. Upon contact, he was identified as Ronny Lee Jenkins, Jr. While checking on the welfare of Jenkins, he asked for a ride to another location. During a consensual search, deputies located cocaine, heroin, schedule III controlled substance and paraphernalia in his possession. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of heroin, felony possession of cocaine, misdemeanor possession of schedule III controlled substance, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. e was issued a $1,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for June 19, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
