On February 23, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 64 E., Asheboro, in reference to burglary of Xylem Tree Service trucks and theft of assorted tools and equipment.
Following an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit, a suspect was developed, and charges were sought against Jeffery Lee Needham for two counts of felony break/enter motor vehicle with theft, two counts of felony possession of stolen goods/property, and injury to real property. The magistrate found probable cause for the charges and issued a warrant for arrest.
On February 26, 2026, Neeham was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his warrant and issued no bond. A first appearance was scheduled for February 27, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
