On February 11, 2026, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to US Hwy 311, Sophia, in reference to a reported family disturbance. Upon arrival, the victims stated that Cletus Jones Frye had forced her way into the residence, causing damage to the door, assaulted them, damaged other items, and then left.
Randolph County EMS responded to the scene to evaluate the victims.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Frye for felony breaking and entering to terrorize or injure, misdemeanor injury to real property, and two counts of misdemeanor simple assault. The magistrate found probable cause and issued an arrest warrant.
On February 12, 2026, Frye was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate issued no bond and a first appearance was set for February 13, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
