On January 19, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Mt. Shepherd Rd. Ext., Asheboro, in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the victim and collected evidence.
Following the investigation, charges were sought against Brandon Lavariega for felony breaking and entering to terrorize, felony larceny, misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, misdemeanor assault on a female, misdemeanor injury to real property, and misdemeanor injury to personal property. The magistrate found probable cause and issued a warrant for arrest.
On January 20, 2026, Lavariega was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was issued no bond due to the charges being domestic in nature. A first appearance was set for January 21, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
