On January 13, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Wright Rd., Thomasville, regarding a case of trespassing. Upon their arrival, deputies discovered Kari Raquel Whitman, who had been evicted from the premises in September 2025 but had returned, reoccupied the property, and was utilizing utilities charged to the owner. She was arrested and taken to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate established probable cause for felony second-degree burglary and misdemeanor first-degree trespassing. She received no bond and first appearance court date was set for January 14, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
