On December 27, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office received information of a possible sex offense upon a minor. Following an investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division of the allegations, charges were sought against Taijuan Jadell Matthews for felony indecent liberties with a child and felony statutory rape of child <=15 and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant for arrest.
On January 7, 2026, Matthews was located, arrested, and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was issued no bond and a first appearance was set for January 7, 2026, in Randolph County District Court.
