On November 23, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office observed a motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed on I-73 and attempted to catch up to it but lost sight of it on NC Hwy 49 in Asheboro. Deputies and other law enforcement began circulating the area in an attempt to relocate the motorcycle.
A deputy traveling west on Dixie Dr. later observed a motorcycle with a male driver matching the earlier description. The motorcycle accelerated to approximately 75 mph in a 45 mph zone and drove between two vehicles also traveling west toward I-73. Deputies initiated a traffic stop, and the driver pulled into the Citgo gas station parking lot at Dixie Dr. and Mack Rd. He was taken into custody without incident and identified as Cesario Bueno-Marure. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony flee to elude, misdemeanors: aggressive driving, reckless driving-wanton disregard, speeding, no motorcycle endorsement, no operators license, and improper use of traffic lane. He received a $30,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for November 24, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
