On September 20, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at Welborn Rd and Finch Farm Rd. The driver was identified as Buren Scott Andrews, who had an outstanding order for arrest for failure to appear in Randolph County. Andrews was placed under arrest.
During a subsequent search, an illegal substance and paraphernalia were located. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where he was served his outstanding order for arrest and received a $15,000 secured bond. In addition, the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving left of center. Andrews did not receive a bond for these charges due to being out on pre-trial release. A first appearance was set for September 22, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
