On July 27, 2025, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to a larceny/theft in progress on Hillsville Rd. in Trinity.
Detectives with the Criminal Interdiction Team Urban Unit arrived on scene and encountered the suspect matching the description. During the encounter, she provided identifiers. During a subsequent search, controlled substances and paraphernalia were located, along with her correct identity. She was identified as Miranda Natasha Opal Cole, who had an outstanding order for arrest.
Cole was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where she was served the order for arrest and was given a preset $50 cash bond and is set to appear in Guilford County Court on August 1, 2025. The magistrate found probable cause for felony identity theft, felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia. Cole received a $15,000 secured bond, and a first appearance was set for July 28, 2025, in Randolph County District Court.
