UPDATE
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has informed the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division Detectives that the human remains found on Rob Cruthis Rd., Archdale, on September 16th, are that of Thomas Kilpatrick Burton, Jr., and the family was notified.
This investigation is still active and anyone with information related to this incident is asked to contact The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office or Crimestoppers.

On September 16, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to Rob Cruthis Rd., Archdale, for an agency assist in a missing persons investigation at the request of the Winston-Salem Police Department. Human remains were located at the residence of Beau Benjamin Martin and they have been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh for examination and identification.
Martin was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony fail/conceal report of death. He was issued a $15,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for September 17, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
