On August 31, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Mountain Creek Rd., Asheboro, in reference to a 911 hangup. While enroute, Communications received an additional call from the same number stating that Brandon Gene Chriscoe had assaulted the caller and just stolen his truck. Upon arrival, deputies observed the truck coming towards them and were able to block the roadway so that the truck could not pass. The male exited the vehicle upon commands and was detained. The vehicle and Chriscoe were returned to the residence for further investigation.
Chriscoe was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony larceny of a motor vehicle but not for the assault. He was issued a $2,500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for September 3, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
