On August 22, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Finch Farm Rd., Trinity, in reference to an unconscious person. Upon arrival, fire personnel advised that a firearm was observed in the passenger seat of the vehicle and a male driver appeared to be unconscious behind the steering wheel. The deputy secured the weapon and fire personnel were able to wake the subject for further evaluation.
During the investigation, it was determined that the male, Charles Michael Reaves, is a convicted felon. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center, where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of firearm by felon. Reaves received no bond due to the Pre-Trial Integrity Act and a first appearance was set for August 23, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
