On June 4, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Worthville Rd., Randleman, in reference to a reported substance abuse incident. Upon arrival, deputies located James Cleveland Meris in possession of heroin and paraphernalia. He was arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of heroin and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The magistrate issued a written promise to appear in Randolph County District Court on June 24, 2024.
