On April 19, 2024, Arquette was arrested in Rowan County by the Kannapolis Police Department at 8:53 p.m., at the Oyo Hotel on 3100 Cloverleaf Parkway. He was transported to the Cabarrus County Detention Center where he was served the warrants out of Randolph County and bond was denied. A first appearance is set for April 22, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.

On April 16, 2024, at approximately 9:20 pm, agencies learned that the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office had located the 2004 Nissan Titan, stolen from Thompson Heath Rd., in their jurisdiction.
This is a multi-agency collaboration effort in an attempt to locate Arquette.

On April 16, 2024, at approximately 10:43 am, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office responded to Beckerdite Rd. and Thompson Heath Rd., Sophia, in reference to an armed person. Multiple callers were reporting a white male on foot in the area carrying firearms, knocking on doors, going through vehicles, and requesting to use a phone. Upon arrival in the area, deputies were advised that an additional call in the area had reported the theft of a silver Nissan truck. Soon after, another caller advised a silver Nissan truck matching the description was traveling at a high rate of speed on Beckerdite Rd. at US Hwy 311 and was believed to have taken I74 southbound toward I85.
At approximately 11:00 am, another caller reported locating an abandoned white F450 in a field off of Thompson Heath Rd. and units responded to that location. Deputies determined it to be the same vehicle used by the suspect of a shooting on the same day in Archdale. The F450 had been reported stolen out of Davidson County at approximately 8 am. This information was provided to the Archdale Police Department regarding their investigation.
The vehicle stolen from Thompson Heath Rd. is a silver 2004 Nissan Titan truck with a diamond-plated toolbox. The suspect in the Archdale shooting and the armed person reports is identified as Joshua Blaine Arquette, 36, of Kannapolis, NC. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Charges were sought by deputies for felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony larceny of motor vehicle, and misdemeanor injury to real property and the magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant.
