On February 10, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office received a report of a possible sex offense upon a minor. Following an investigation of the allegations, Criminal Investigation Division Detectives sought charges against Lawrence Nathaniel Chandler for eight counts of felony first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
On February 16, 2024, at 9:45 pm, Chandler was arrested by the Randolph County Criminal Apprehension Team on Starlette Ln. in Trinity NC. He was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate issued No Bond and a first appearance was set for February 19, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
