On January 22, 2024, the Randolph County Sheriff's Office received information regarding a missing vehicle. During an investigation by the Criminal Interdiction Team, it was discovered that the vehicle had been sold as scrap on December 29, 2023.
After further investigation and collection of evidence, charges were sought against Jason Wayne Barker for felony obtain property by false pretense. The magistrate found probable cause to issue a warrant.
On February 9, 2024, Barker was located, arrested and transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where he was served the warrant. The magistrate issued a $500 secured bond and a first appearance was set for February 12, 2024, in Randolph County District Court.
