On October 4, 2023, the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office Highway Criminal Interdiction Team initiated a traffic stop for minor violations on I-85 in Trinity. During a subsequent search, a firearm along with marijuana was located.
As a result, Jerrell Antoine McDaniel of Charlotte was transported to the Randolph County Detention Center where the magistrate found probable cause for felony possession of a firearm by a felon and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was issued a $10,000 secured bond and a first appearance was set for October 5, 2023, in Randolph County District Court.
